The Igor More strategy that keeps me consistent with my ordinary practice. Consistency is one of the hardest things to achieve, especially on a spiritual path. With life pulling us in different directions, it's easy to let spiritual practices slip through the cracks. However, I found that using a simple system to help me stay spiritually attuned keeps me grounded, connected, and in sync with my ordinary journey.
SPEAKER_00Here's how I use it to stay consistent and how you can do. Choose a market day for ancestral veneration.
SPEAKER_01In Ordinary, each of the four market days, Eke, Orye, Afo, and Unku carries unique energy. I've made it a point to pick at least one market day every week to engage in ancestral veneration or meditations. It's not about grand rituals, but small intentional actions that can range from lighting a candle, burning incense, offering cola, or simply using unzu to acknowledge my spiritual guide. This practice helps me pause amidst life's busyness and reconnect with my roots. It's a day dedicated to remembering that my qi and ancestors walk with me. If you find a market day that aligns with your rhythm, you will discover a sense of grounding that makes spiritual consistency easier.
SPEAKER_002. Designate a market day for learning and self-development.
SPEAKER_01I set aside time on a chosen market day to consume spiritual content from books, podcasts, videos, or teachings from other practitioners. It's a way of growing spiritually without feeling overwhelmed. Choosing a specific day for learning also stops me from falling into the trap of consuming too much information at once. Instead of binge watching and forgetting, I pace myself.
SPEAKER_00Ordinary is a lifelong journey, and small, steady steps make all the difference.
SPEAKER_01Music is powerful in elevating the spirit. I created a playlist filled with spiritual uplifting Igbo songs. Songs that remind me of my connection to the divine. I play it almost daily, whether I'm driving, cooking, or simply relaxing. These songs serve as a reminder that spirituality doesn't always have to be formal. Music speaks directly to the soul, and playing spiritually aligned music keeps me tuned to the spirit of my practice effortlessly.
SPEAKER_00Maintaining internal dialogue with my chi.
SPEAKER_01One of the most transformative practices I've adopted is maintaining internal dialogue with my chi.
SPEAKER_00Anytime I see synchronized numbers like 1111, 2222 or 333, I take it as a nudge to acknowledge my Qi's presence. Sometimes it's quick. Thank you for walking with me, or Chim Dalu.
SPEAKER_01And other times it's a moment to reflect on where I need guidance. This simple act builds my awareness of divine presence and reminds me that I'm never alone. It keeps my connection to the unseen constant no matter where I am or what I am doing.
SPEAKER_005. Say a prayer on water during showers.
SPEAKER_01Water is sacred in ordinary, symbolizing cleansing, renewal, and life itself. I've incorporated a habit of saying a prayer over water whenever I take a shower. As the water flows, I ask it to wash away any negativity, renew my spirit, and align me with my purpose. This small ritual turns a mundane activity into a spiritual practice. It serves as a daily reset button, making sure that I stay energetically aligned and spiritually focused no matter how hectic the day gets.
SPEAKER_00Why this Igon More strategy works.
SPEAKER_01The beauty of this Igon More strategy is in its simplicity. Instead of forcing myself to rigid routines, I've learned to weave spiritual practices naturally into my everyday life. It's a sustainable way to stay connected without feeling burdened. This strategy reminds me that ordinary goes beyond elaborate ceremonies or occasional sprouts of devotion. It has more to do with steady, consistent practice. Small actions done consistently have a cumulative effect that strengthens my spirit, aligns me with my purpose, and keeps me centered. To sum it up, this Egon More strategy is a framework you can adapt to suit or create your own patterns. From choosing your own market days to creating a different playlist, the goal is to find practices that fit your life. Consistency is key, not perfection.
